Every now and then somebody does something that makes you think “What a brilliant idea!”. I was cooking tonight’s meal with the TV on in the background and was blown away by the new Simply Health marketing campaign.
Good ideas are always SIMPLE… Simply Health – the health insurance company advertised that if you like their Facebook Page, they will donate a £1.00 to Heart Research UK.
My instant thoughts are that this campaign has it all:
They are advertising prime time
Brand Image (We all love money going to charity from the big guys)
Social Media Awareness – I have to like it to make sure my £ is counted
A huge potential list of new targets – I wouldn’t have chosen to “Like” Simply Health normally
Now, maybe nobody else was blown away at how effective this was. Simply Health are a company who we have all had cold calls from, seen in magazines and had mailshots from but this campaign makes us take an action. This is the first step to interaction from Simply Health.
This interaction will in my personal opinion be more effective than binned mailshots and irritating phone calls we don’t want at home. I’m really interested to see what they do when we all follow them.
Will they gain me as a customer as a result of this campaign. No, I don’t think so, I’m already with them. 🙂
